Entrance Examination for Admission to Post Graduate Courses in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) 2009, Kerala

1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Post Graduate Degree Course in Pharmacy - 2009 in the following specialties:
(a) Pharmaceutical Analysis (b) Pharmacognosy & Phyto-chemistry (c) Pharmaceutics
(d) Pharmacology (e) Pharmacy Practice (f) Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

2. Eligibility for Admission
(i) Nativity: Indian citizen of Kerala origin. For sponsored seats all Indian citizens are eligible
(ii) Academic qualifications:
(a) For General candidates: Pass in B.Pharm Degree in any of the Universities in Kerala University or equivalent thereto from an institution recognized by the AICTE and the Pharmacy Council of India with a minimum of 50% marks for all the four years of B Pharm examination taken together.
(b) For lecturer in Pharmacy who seek admission against the reserved quota, the minimum marks will be 50% (except in the case of Pharmacy practice, for which minimum 55% is required).

3. Selection: Based on Entrance Examination (except for seats reserved for Lecturer in Pharmacy and sponsored candidates) to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala on 07.02.2010 at Thiruvananthapuram. The examination will consist of one paper of three hours duration with 200 objective
(multiple choice) questions.

4. Application forms: Application and Prospectus form will be available from 23.12.2009 Onwards on the website www.cee.kerala.org (See Clause XI of the Prospectus). The application procedure is common for General, service and sponsored candidates. Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the online application form provided on the website www.cee-kerala.org of the commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fee at any State Bank of Travancore Branch. Candidates residing outside kerala state can remit the application fee by way of demand draft drawn from any nationalized bank in favour of the commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee for Gereral candidate is Rs.800/- Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or office of the DME. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances. For service & sponsored candidates: Application fee of Rs.800/-(Rupees Eight Hundred only) to be remitted in the Treasury under the Head of Account “0210-03-105-99”

5. Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates seeking admission should take a printout of the application form, affix passport size photograph duly attested by the candidates in the space provided, and forward their completed application with all the required documents, including original bank voucher, mentioned in clause XII of the prospectus to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations,Housing Board Buildings,Santhinagar,Thiruvananthapuram,Kerala– 695 001, either by registered post, by speed post or Hand Delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on 16.01.2010. Applicants to service quota seats/sponsored seats should complete all the procedures mentioned in clause XI. However, instead of forwarding the printout of the application form to the commissioner for Entrance Examinations, the service quota Candidates/Sponsored quota are required to forward the application along with copies of all required documents, to The Director of Medical education, Medical College Campus, Thiruvananthapuram-695 011 on or before 16.01.2010 through their Heads of
Departments.

6. Belated, incomplete, defective and wrongly addressed applications will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be undertaken in this regard. Candidates will neither be allowed to include any information in the application form nor to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances. Candidates must note that they have to obtain the required certificates in the respective format given in the Application form. The certificates, which are not in the format specified in the application form, will not be considered under any circumstances.

7. The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, publish the Select and Wait list of candidates based on merit as assessed at the Entrance Examination and forward the same to Director of Medical Education for allotment and admission.

8. Candidates may go through the details given in the Prospectus for admission to the Post graduate degree courses in Pharmacy (M.Pharm), approved by the Government of Kerala, available in the website at http://www.cee-kerala.org/pgphar.htm before filling in the application form.
