The National Institute of Technology, Raipur (NIT-Raipur), formerly known as Government Engineering College, Raipur, was established in the year 1987. NIT Raipur is a Central Government institute offering A.I.C.T.E approved undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering and technology. The Institute is run following rules and regulations laid down by the Central Government.

The institute offers graduate level courses in twelve disciplines.
