The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are India's premier business schools that also conduct research in the field of management to various sectors of the Indian economy. They are located at Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore and Kozhikode.

The institute offers various programmes in Management. PGP - Post Graduate Programme (equivalent to MBA), FPM - Fellow Programme in Management (equivalent to PhD), FDP - Faculty Development Programme, MDP - Management Development Programme. The IIMs also offer various shorter duration management training programs as well as part-time MBA programs.

All the IIMs are completely autonomous institutes owned and financed by the Government of India. They were created by the Indian Government with the aim of identifing the brightest intellectual talent available in the student community of India and training it in the best Management Techniques available in the world
