The Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (VNIT) Nagpur, was formerly known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), is one of the first six Regional Engineering Colleges established under the scheme sponsored by Government of India.The college was established in June 1960 as a part of national integration initiative through joint venture of Govt. of India and Govt. of Maharashtra and named after the eminent engineer, planner and statesman of the country Sir M. Visvesvaraya.Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology campus is situated on South Ambazari Road between Abhyankar Nagar and Ambazari dam. The distance of the campus from Nagpur Railway Station / ST Bus Stand is about 8/10 kms. and 7 kms. from Nagpur Airport.
