1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination for admission to Medical Post Graduate Super Speciality Courses, Kerala 2008 in the Medical Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode in the following Specialities.

1. M. Ch. Paediatric Surgery
2. M. Ch. Plastic Surgery
3. M. Ch. Genito Urinary Surgery
4. M. Ch. Thoracic Surgery
5. M. Ch. Neuro Surgery
6. M. Ch. Gastroenterology Surgery
7. D. M. Cardiology
8. D.M. Gastroenterology
9. D.M. Neurology
10. D.M. Nephrology

2. Eligibility for Admission:

(i) Nativity : Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala Origin.

(ii) Academic qualifications: M.B.B.S. Degree and appropriate Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS) or appropriate Diploma of National Board. The M.D/M.S. Degree should be obtained from any University in Kerala or from Universities outside Kerala in which case they should be recognized as equivalent by Universities in Kerala. Candidates who have appeared or appearing for MD / MS examination can also apply. They should submit their P G Degree Certificate at the time of Counselling.

(iii) Registration: Candidates should have got their M B B S and P G Degrees registered permanently with State [ T. C. ] Medical Council and the proof should be submitted at the time of Counselling.

(iv) Age: Upper age limit for General Merit Candidates will be 45 years and it will be 47 years for Service Candidates, as on the last date of submission of Application (12.06.2008).

3. Selection and Entrance Examination: Candidates desirous of being considered against General seats and seats reserved for Service candidates will have to appear for the Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Thiruvananthapuram. All General Merit quota candidates shall have to qualify the Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala by securing minimum of 50% marks. For Service candidates the eligibility will be as per the decision of the Government, which will be issued from time to time. The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram on 28-06-2008 (Saturday) and 29-06-2008 (Sunday). It will consist of two Papers, each of one and half hours duration and the questions will be of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions). Appearance in Paper I and II of the Entrance Examination is compulsory for admission to the course. Details regarding the courses, eligibility are given in the Prospectus issued by the Director of Medical Education (DME).

4. Application forms: Application form is common for all categories of candidates. Candidates can apply in the prescribed format by downloading the application form, from the website (cee-kerala.org) of the CEE, Kerala from 18.05.2008 onwards. Application forms will not be sold from the Office of the CEE / DME or from Medical Colleges. How and when to apply: Candidates including Service candidates should submit the filled in application and the required documents along with a Demand Draft for Rs.1,500/-(Rupees One Thousand and Five Hundred only) drawn on any Nationalized bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Service candidates applying in General Merit Quota in addition to Service Quota also should submit a Demand draft for a total amount of Rs.3,000/-, along with the Application to be submitted to the CEE. The cost of application once remitted will not be refunded on any account.

5. Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates seeking admission in General Merit as well as Service Quota seats should forward their completed application with all the required documents and Demand Draft to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by Registered post or by hand delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on Thursday, 12.06.2008.Service candidates should forward a copy of the application form along with copies of all required documents, including those related to their service to the Controlling Officer concerned. Late applications including those brought after 5 PM on 12.06.2008 will not be accepted. Candidates are advised to apply for the examination well in advance. The CEE will not be responsible for any postal delay. Belated, incomplete, defective and wrongly addressed applications will be summarily rejectedand no correspondence will be undertaken in this regard.

6. Candidates will neither be allowed to include any information in the application form nor to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances.

7. The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, publish select list and wait list of candidates based on merit as assessed in the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education.

8. The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be made by the DME, based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government. Candidates may go through the various provisions of the Prospectus available in the Official web site of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations at “cee-kerala.org”, before filling up the application forms.
