Admission to M.Tech. Programme, Academic Session 2009-2010
Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology
(Formerly Delhi Institute of Technology)


Applications are invited for admission to
M.Tech (Full Time & Part Time) for the
Academic Session 2009-2010.


(i) M.Tech (Signal Processing) under the Division of Electronics & Communication Engineering
(ii) M.Tech. (Information System) under the Division of Computer Engineering
(iii) M.Tech(Process Control) under the Division of Instrumentation & Control Engineering

Eligibility Conditions for admission

a. For Full Time M.Tech. Programme with scholarship:
(Four Semester Programme of two year duration)

i A candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech degree in Electronics & Communication/ Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation &
Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions.
OR
A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I. E.(India) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E.(India) AMIE(London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi.

ii A candidate for admission to full time course must have qualified (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) Gate Score.

b. For Full time Sponsored M..Tech Programme without scholarship.
(Four semester programme of two year duration)

i. A candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech degree in Electronics & Communication/ Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation &
Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions.
OR
A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I. E.(India) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E.(India) AMIE(London) or any other examination in the
concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi.

The preference shall be given to those candidates who are GATE qualified.

Note: The number of sponsored candidates will not exceed the 50% of full time seats.

ii. The candidates must have minimum one year’s full time work experience in a registered firm/company/Industry/ Educational and Research Institutes/ any
Government Department or Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. Experience period will be
counted after obtaining the degree only.

iii. A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to get admission. The employer should also indicate that the candidate
will not be withdrawn midway till the completion of the course.

Note: Sponsored candidate will not be eligible to receive scholarship even if they are admitted on the basis of GATE score.

C. Part Time M.Tech. Programme
(Six Semester Programme of three year duration)

i A candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication/ Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation &
Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions.
OR
A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I. E.(India) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E.(India) AMIE(London) or any other examination in the
concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi.

ii. The candidates must have minimum one year’s full time work experience in a registered firm/company/Industry/ Educational and Research Institutes/ any Government Department or Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. The candidates will be required to submit
a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employers.

Note: No scholarship shall be available for part time M.Tech. programme students.

Age :

A candidate should be twenty one years of age before the first day of October 2006.
However, the Vice-Chancellor on the basis of individual merit may relax the age up to a maximum period of one year.

Procedure for admission:

i. All candidates for admission to M.Tech. Programme must submit their applications to the Institute in the prescribed form as per the guidelines notified
by the University.

ii. Candidates shall be required to present themselves for a written test and interview before a Selection Committee.

iii. The final selection of the candidates shall be made by the Selection Committee on the basis of their performance at the qualifying examination test and interview

Application form with full details is available on NSIT website. The complete application form along with attested photocopiers of certificates /testimonials and a demand draft/ pay order of Rs.500/- (Rs. Five hundred only) in favor of Director, NSIT, New Delhi- 110078 payable at Andhra Bank , NSIT Branch, New Delhi should reach to the Assistant Registrar(Academic/PG) latest by 30/04/2009. Please write your name address and telephone number (if any) at the back of the demand draft /pay order. Separate application form should be submitted for each programme/ Division.
