Department of Chemistry is launching a new exciting three-year M.Tech. Program in Chemical Synthesis and Process Technologies From the academic year 2008-09.

ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING INDUSTRIAL SECTORS IN INDIA IS THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY, WHICH IS PRIMARILY THRIVING ON THE SYNTHESIS OF PATENT FREE DRUGS AND THEIR INTERMEDIATES. THE TOTAL EXPORT VALUE OF THE PRODUCTS OF THESE INDUSTRIES IS ABOUT 6 BILLION DOLLARS ANNUALLY. ONE OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE PRESENT COURSE ON “CHEMICAL SYNTHESIS AND PROCESS TECHNOLOGIES” IS TO TRAIN STUDENTS TO TAKE UP LEADERSHIP JOBS IN INDIAN PHARMACEUTICAL & OTHER CHEMICAL COMPANIES.

PROJECT WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT AT NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LABORATORIES DURING THE COURSE.

STUDENTS ADMITTED IN THE COURSE MAY BE PROVIDED WITH SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE DURATION OF THE COURSE.

Application from is available form the office of the Head, Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi on all working days between 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. on cash payment of Rs. 200/- + Bank draft of Rs. 800/- in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi, as Entrance Examination Fee. Application form can also be downloaded from the University website: http:// www.du.ac.in, which can be deposited in the Department of Chemistry, along with a Bank Draft of Rs. 1,000/- in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi.

Draft must be purchased only from the Branches of State Bank of India.

Last date for the receipt of filled application form: 4th August 2008.
Date of Admission Test: 7th August 2008 (9.00 a.m.)
Notification of Result: 8th August 2008 (4.00 p.m.)
Date of Interview of short listed candidates: 9th August 2008 (10.00 a.m.)
Announcement of Selected Candidates: 11th August 2008 (11.00 a.m.)
Last date for deposition of Fees: 14th August 2008 (12 Noon)
Classes Start on: 18th August 2008
