PGDLPO Programme Details

The Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Process Outsourcing (“P.G.D.L.P.O.”) has been developed by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (“IGNOU”) and Rainmaker. This one-year distance-learning diploma programme, the first, and only one of its kind in the country, aims to prepare students for the fast-growing outsourced legal services sector. The P.G.D.L.P.O. is based on a needs analysis of the Legal Process Outsourcing (“L.P.O.”) industry in India.

Duration

This programme is divided into two semesters over the course of a year. This programme will take students through certain fundamental areas of learning that are crucial for any lawyer desirous of joining this exciting sector of the legal industry.

P.G.D.L.P.O. Courses

Keeping industry requirements in mind, the P.G.D.L.P.O. programme is divided into the following four subject areas, each with a focus on areas critical to your success in the outsourced legal services industry: legal knowledge and skills, industry awareness and preparedness, technology and legal ethics, and communication.

Professional English Proficiency (“PEP”)
Virtual Intelligence Methods (“VIM”)
Legal Education and Proficiency (“LEAP”)
Skills, Personal Effectiveness and Enterprise Development (“SPEED”)

Eligibility

Any law graduate, or law student in the final year of the LL.B. programme, may apply.

NOTE: Law students will be granted the diploma only upon submission of proof of completion of their law degree.

Fee Structure

The programme fee (all inclusive) is Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen thousand only).

Important Dates

Start of Semester 1 of First Session : February 15 , 2009.
Start of Semester 2 of First Session : August 16 , 2009.
Start of Semester 1 of Second Session : August 16 ,2009.
Start of Semester 2 of Second Session : February 15 ,2010.
