Admission to M.Sc Biotechnology Programme


Ten (10) seats are available for admission to M.Sc. Biotechnology Programme run by the University. Candidates with Bachelor's Degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, 4-years B.Sc. (Physician Assistant Course) or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply. Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in 2008 or.,thereafter including those who are appearing in 2010 are eligible to apply. Admission for all seats will be made on the basis of merit in the Combined Entrance Examination for Biotechnology (CEEB) to be conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on 20thMay 2010. Out of these ten seats, five will be filled on all India bases. The remaining five seats will be filled in order of merit from the CEEB-qualified list provided by the JNU, New Delhi who fulfill the eligibility criteria and other conditions prescribed for the M.Sc. Biotechnology Programmeof the University of Jammu;the admission in this category shall be given to a
candidatewho:

a) Has passed the qualifying examination from the University of Jammu; or
b) is a permanent resident of the territorial jurisdiction of the University but has passed the qualifying examination or an equivalent examination from a recognized University other that the University of Jammu.

In addition three candidates will be admitted under NRII Industry sponsored category (Sponsorshipfee Rs. 2.00 lacs) the advertisement for which will be issued in July, 2010. The application forms for appearing in the CEEB can be obtained from the office of the undersignedon cash payment ofRs. 200/- on any working day between 9:30 am to 5:00 pm by or before March 15, 2010. Candidates hailing from J&K State are directed to deposit a photocopy of the filled application form along with photo copy of State'Subject Certificate in the office of the Undersigned. The last date for submission of completed forms by Registered post/Speed post directly to the Deputy Registrar (Admissions) JNU, New Delhi - 1100067is March 15,2010.
