Admission Procedure
For B.Tech. Program
Admission will be purely on the basis of the candidate's performance in the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by SRM University
Candidates short-listed based on their performance in the entrance examination will be called for the counseling to be held at the SRM University premises in Kattankulathur, Chennai
For B.Arch. Program
Admission to the B.Arch. program will be based on the aggregate of marks secured in the qualifying examination & the NATA score
The meritorious candidate list will be drawn giving 50% weightage to aggregate of total marks secured in qualifying examination & 50% weightage to NATA score
Based on the ranking, admissions will be offered to the candidate
For B.Des. Program
Admission to B.Des. program will be purely on the basis of performance in the Higher Secondary examination. Candidates short listed based on their Higher Secondary marks will be offered admission directly.
For M.Tech. Program
Admission to this program will be on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test conducted by SRM University. However candidate with valid GATE score can also apply and will be considered for admission. Merit list will be prepared and candidates will be called for counseling.
For MBA and PGPM Programs
Admission to these programs will be on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test conducted by SRM University. However, candidates with a valid score in CAT/ MAT can also apply and will be considered for admission.
Merit list will be prepared, candidates will be called for group discussion and a personal interview will complete the selection process
For MCA Program
Admission to this program will be on the basis of performance in the Entrance Test conducted by SRM University
Merit list will be prepared and candidates will be called for counseling
For M. S. (TQM)
The Admission Committee will decide on the procedure for conducting the interview for eligible candidates, as decided by the committee from year to year, and the percentage of marks obtained in specified subjects of the qualifying examinations will be considered
The Admission Committee will prepare a merit list and offer admissions through counseling, taking into account the professional experience of the candidate and the number of seats available
For M.S. (Nanoscience and Nanotechnology)
Admission to this program will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Merit list will be prepared and candidates will be called for counseling.
Issue of Application Forms
Application Forms and information brochures will be available at the University Office and at the University Campus, Head Office (#3, Veerasamy Street, West Mambalam, Chennai - 600 033) on payment of Rs. 750.00 by cash or by post with a DD for Rs. 750.00 favouring SRMIST, payable at Chennai. Candidates can also apply online or download the application form from the University website. It can also be obtained on cash payment of Rs 750 from all main branches of State Bank of India, Indian Bank, City Union Bank Limited, Karur Vysya Bank Limited, Axis Bank and Post Offices.
How to Apply
- The application form obtained on payment can be filled and sent to the Dean(Admissions)
- Applications downloaded from the web can be filled and sent along with a DD of Rs. 750.00 favoring SRMIST, payable at Chennai, to the Dean (Admissions)
- Candidates can also register, submit the application and pay Rs. 750.00 online
The completed application should be sent to the university so as to reach before the last date specified. Once the candidate is selected, he/ she will be notified of the date and time of counseling. The counseling procedure will be on the basis of the performance in the SRM EEE.
