Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, has invited applications from eligible candidates for the B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) and M.Sc. Nursing courses for the session starting July 16, 2008.

Eligibility :

B.Sc. Nursing (4 years): (Only for female candidates)

Applicant should have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or any other examination recognized by the Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates awaiting the results of these qualifying examinations can also apply, but they will be issued Roll numbers only if they furnish the certificates of their having passed the examination, 15 days by Post and 5 days by hand, before the date of entrance test. The minimum age is 17 years and maximum 25 years, as on 31st December of the year of admission.

B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) :

Applicant must have passed 10+2 or any other examination recognized by the Panjab University as equivalent thereto. Applicant should be Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife qualified from a recognized Institute and registered with respective State Nursing Council as approved by I.N.C. or substitute registration in case of male candidates fully qualified for nursing of men, women and children. In case, the candidate is in service, the application should be routed through the employer.

M.Sc. Nursing :

B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc (Hons) Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) or any other Degree from the institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and the Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks in aggregate. Applicant should have at least 1 year of work experience by 15th July of the year in Bedside Nursing or Public Health Nursing in Nursing educational institutions recognized by the Indian Nursing Council after Basic B.Sc. Nursing or before and after Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing and should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife as approved by I.N.C. or substitute registration in the case of male candidates fully qualified for nursing of men, women and children. In case, the candidate is in service, the application should be routed through the employer.

Filled up application should reach the Principal, National Institute of Nursing Education, PGI, Chandigarh, either personally or by Registered post by 2.5.2008
