Invites Application for Admission to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme for January 2009 Session

The B.Ed. Programme offered by IGNOU is an innovative programme utilizing self instructional materials and information technology along with interactive personal contact programmes. The programme is essentially a judicious mix of theoretical and practical courses to develop in practising teacher's appropriate knowledge,skills, understanding and attitudes.

Eligibility For Admission

i A Bachelor's degree or a higher degree from a recognized university
ii In-service teachers with two years (2 years) full time teaching experience on temporary/permanent basis as Primary/Graduate/Post Graduate teacher in a primary secondary higher/senior secondary school recognized by the Central or State Government or a Union Territory.

The admission to this programme is on the basis of an Entrance Test to be conducted on Sunday the August 17,2008 all over the country

Duration of the Programme: 2 years

Medium of Instruction: English and Hindi

The Student Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained from IGNOU Regional Centre, Kalloor, Cochin-17 or from Programme Study Centres/Study Centres in person on payment of Rs.500/- in cash or through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs.550/- drawn in favour of IGNOU Payable at Ernakulam. Please write your name, address and programme on the back side of the demand draft

The Student Handbook and Prospectus is also available on website at http://www.ignou.ac.in The application form can also be downloaded from the website and submitted with a demand draft of Rs.550/- drawn in favour of IGNOU.

Last Dates:
Requisition for supply of Prospectus by post: 30th June, 2008
Submission of filled in application forms at the concerned Regional Centre : 15th June, 2008

Late and incomplete application forms shall be summarily rejected. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Candidates who are appearing in qualifying (Bachelor or a Higher Degree) examination can also apply. However, such candidates will be required to submit the proof of having passed the qualifying examination by 31st March, 2009 otherwise the provisional admission will stand cancelled and in such case no fee will be refunded by the university. There is no age bar for the B.Ed Programme.
