Entrance Test-Cum-Admission Notification For MBA / MCA Programmes-2008

Applications are invited for the Entrance Examination as well as Admissions into MBA (Marketing /Finance / HRM) & MCA Courses through School of Distance Education, Andhra University for theacademic year 2008-09 from fresh and in-service candidates. ICET qualified candidates need no appear for this Entrance Examination and can seek admissions directly.

1) MBA (Three years) - MBA (Marketing) / MBA (Finance) / MBA (HRM)

Eligibility : ICET Rank Holders or qualified candidates of Entrance Test for MBA/MCA courses conducted by the SDE, AU with a Bachelor’s Degree other than BFA and BA (OL) of AU or of any other University recognized by A.U. as equivalent thereto besides passing SSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects. The candidates with Professional Qualifications like BE., B.Tech., B.Pharm, Medicine, Law, C.A., ICWAI, C.S., AMIE, AIETE, etc., are also eligible.

2) EXECUTIVE MBA (Two years) - MBA (Marketing) / MBA (Finance) / MBA (HRM)

Eligibility : i) In addition to eligibility criteria for 3-year MBA, candidates should have atleast two years of in-service experience after passing graduation or qualifying examination as on 01-07-2008. However, the candidates with ten years of experience after graduation or qualifying examination can seek admission without test.
(ii) The candidates with M.Com. / CA / ICWAI / CS will be permitted to complete MBA through School of Distance Education within one year duration by exempting equivalent papers already studied in their respective PG or Professional degree. However, they have to qualify in entrance test.

3) Additional Optional Papers of MBA Programme :

Candidates who have completed MBA Course from Andhra University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto are permitted to pursue Additional Optional Papers in Marketing/ HRM/Finance as the case may be by getting admitted into the Final year of II year or Final year of III year MBA programme. Such candidates need not appear for any entrance test.

4) MCA (Three years) :

Eligibility : ICET Rank Holders or qualified candidates of Entrance Test for MBA/MCA courses conducted by School of Distance Education, A.U. with a Bachelor’s Degree other than BFA and BA (OL) of AU or any other University recognized by AU as equivalent thereto. Candidates must have Mathematics at Plus Two (Intermediate / PUC) level or should have passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects of study.

Lateral Entry : Candidates who have passed PGDCPA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Programming and Applications) offered by the School of Distance Education, AU can seek admission into 2nd year of MCA.

Applications for the Entrance Examination and admissions into MBA/MCA Courses will be issued from 25-08-2008. Intending candidates may write to the undersigned by designation for application form by sending DD for Rs. 250/- (Entrance) / Rs. 300/- (Admissions) drawn in favour of the Registrar, Andhra University payable at Visakhapatnam. The candidate has to write his / her name & address on the reserve side of DD stating the purpose.

Last Date with Late Fee of Rs. 200/- - 16-10-2008

Note :

(1) Candidates who are already qualified in ICET examination need not apply for the Entrance Test and can seek
admissions directly.
(2) Candidates with more than 10 years experience as on 01-07-2008, need not appear for the Entrance Test.

(3) RG Kedia College of Commerce, Near New Chaderghat Bridge, Hyderabad.

(6) Modern Public School, Rishap Vihar, Delhi-110 092

Entrance Examination will be conducted at the above centres. Filled in Admission/Entrance Examination Application should be submitted to the Director, School of Distance Education, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on or before the last date specified.
