2 Year MBA (Focused on Oil & Gas Sector)


Applications are invited for admission to Two Year Residential MBA ( Focused on Oil & Gas Sector) offered at Institute of Petroleum Management Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar under Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, starting in July 2009.

Only those candidates, who have appeared for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs on 16th November, 2008 are eligible to apply.

Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing Higher Secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Candidates appearing for the final Bachelor's Degree / equivalent qualification examination can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the University/ Institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks (i.e. all the years’ grade/marks except the final year grade/marks). Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2009 from the Principal/Registrar of their College/ Institute/ University (issued on or before June 30, 2009) certifying that they have completed all the requirements and have appeared for the examinations/practical etc. for the final year/final term whatever the case maybe (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the Bachelor's Degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.

The filled up Application from has to be sent only by Registered Post (not by Courier/Speed Post) to ‘Admissions 2009, MBA (Focused on Oil & Gas Sector), Institute of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar, Off Koba-Gandhinagar Highway, Raisan, Gandhinagar, Gujarat -382 007’ along with attested copy of CAT score card, Application fee of Rs.2000/-, to be paid by way of a Demand Draft taken in favour of ‘Institute of Petroleum Management Gandhinagar – PDPU’, payable at Ahmedabad. The last date for receipt of filled up applications is 1500 hrs on 5.2.2009.

The list of candidates short listed for GD/PI and the schedule for the same will be announced in February 2009. GD/PI for short listed candidates will be held at IPMG in March 2009 and the admission list will be announced in April 2009. The two-year full time residential programme is organized on the basis of three terms in a year. The programme is focused on energy sector with emphasis on Oil & Gas sector and hence the entire curriculum is designed to meet the requirement of the particular sector.
