Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) invites Applications from Indian nationals for research program scheduled to commence from August 2008 in the following areas of basic sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria :

First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC / ST) in M.Sc. in Chemistry / Physics / Biochemistry / Material Science/ Life Sciences /Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science or M. Stat or equivalent. Students with B. Tech. or equivalent degree in Engineering Physics / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering /B.Pharma / M.Pharma / MBBS degree may also apply for research programs in Physics and Life Sciences.

Other criteria :

The applicants should have qualified through NET / GATE / JEST or equivalent examination and the selected students with valid score are eligible for fellowship from IISER Pune. Students with valid UGC-CSIR JRF are eligible for fellowship directly from UGC or CSIR. Candidates must attend the interview before selection for doctoral program, the dates of which would be informed to the short-listed candidates. Candidates who have appeared for qualifying degree examination are eligible to apply, and must submit the attested qualifying degree certificates / final transcripts before joining (Deadline: 30th September, 2008). Age: Not more than 28 years as on 1st August 2008 (Born on / after 01.08.1980). Age will be relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST candidates.

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, has invited applications from eligible candidates for the B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) and M.Sc. Nursing courses for the session starting July 16, 2008.

Eligibility :

B.Sc. Nursing (4 years): (Only for female candidates)

Applicant should have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or any other examination recognized by the Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates awaiting the results of these qualifying examinations can also apply, but they will be issued Roll numbers only if they furnish the certificates of their having passed the examination, 15 days by Post and 5 days by hand, before the date of entrance test. The minimum age is 17 years and maximum 25 years, as on 31st December of the year of admission.

B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) :

Applicant must have passed 10+2 or any other examination recognized by the Panjab University as equivalent thereto. Applicant should be Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife qualified from a recognized Institute and registered with respective State Nursing Council as approved by I.N.C. or substitute registration in case of male candidates fully qualified for nursing of men, women and children. In case, the candidate is in service, the application should be routed through the employer.

M.Sc. Nursing :

B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc (Hons) Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic) or any other Degree from the institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and the Panjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks in aggregate. Applicant should have at least 1 year of work experience by 15th July of the year in Bedside Nursing or Public Health Nursing in Nursing educational institutions recognized by the Indian Nursing Council after Basic B.Sc. Nursing or before and after Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing and should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife as approved by I.N.C. or substitute registration in the case of male candidates fully qualified for nursing of men, women and children. In case, the candidate is in service, the application should be routed through the employer.

Filled up application should reach the Principal, National Institute of Nursing Education, PGI, Chandigarh, either personally or by Registered post by 2.5.2008

Eligibility :

Bachelor Degree in Science with Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subjects or Agriculture / Engineering / Technology. Mathematics as one of the subjects in 12th Class or Pre University or at Degree level is compulsory for admission

National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT - Calicut) invites applications for its Finishing School for Engineering Graduates in Information Technology and Soft Skills

With a view to meet the immediate trained human resource requirements of the IT & ITES industries, it is proposed to set up a chain of finishing school programmes for engineering graduates. As per the directives of MHRD, Government of India, NITs and IITs will conduct finishing school programmes during May-June 2008 ,as was done by some of them last year. This effort has the twin objectives of (i) offering suitable candidates to the IT industry and (ii) helping young graduates find jobs through appropriate training. Therefore the purpose of this training is to enhance and sharpen the required skills among engineering graduates and make them employable in the IT & ITES industry.. The details of the finishing school proposed to be conducted at NIT Calicut are as follows:

Eligibility

Selection

Selection is based on the academic performance in the B.Tech. Degree examinations. Reservations will beas per Government of India Norms.

The selected participants have to report at NIT Calicut at 9.00 a.m. on 13th May 2008, with the originals of the following documents:

The original certificates will be returned immediately after verification. The amount paid, except the caution deposit, will not be refunded under any circumstances.
