Admission to M.Tech/ME Programmes
(Both regular & Modular)


National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), invites applications for M.TECH/ME Programmes Both Regular & Modular Mode.

The Institute offers the following Masters of Engineering Programmes (both Regular & Modular):

i) Master of Technology Engineering Educatio ii) Master of Engineering Manufacturing Technology
iii) Master of Engineering Construction Technology & Management
iv) Master of Engineering Computer Science & Engineering
v) Master of Engineering Instrumentation & Control
vi) Master of Engineering Electronics & Communication Engineering

Reservation

15% seats are reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates and 3% for disabled candidates. Reservation for OBCs (18% out of 27% for second year, 2009-10) will be implemented as per instructions of Govt. of India applicable to Central Educational institutions.

Qualifications and Experience for Admission:

(i) M.Tech. Engineering Education (for both Regular and Modular) Programme

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy from a recognized University or its equivalent OR Master’s Degree in Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry from a recognized University with atleast 50% marks in aggregate and post qualification experience of atleast 2 years (3 years in case of AMIE/IETE after diploma) in teaching/industry/research organization.

(ii) M.E. Manufacturing Technology (for both Regular and Modular) Programme

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engg/Production Engg./Industrial Engg. from a recognized University or its equivalent with atleast 50% marks in aggregate and post qualification experience of atleast 2 years (3 years in case of AMIE after diploma) in teaching/industry/research organization.

(iii) M.E. Construction Technology & Management (for both Regular and Modular)

A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent with atleast 50% marks in aggregate and post qualification experience of atleast 2 years (3 years in case of AMIE after diploma) in teaching/industry/research organization.

(iv) M.E. Computer Science and Engineering (for both Regular and Modular)

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering/Electronics Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering/Information Technology from a recognized University or its equivalent with atleast 50% marks in aggregate and post qualification experience of atleast 2 years (3 years in case of AMIE/IETE after diploma) in teaching/industry/research organization.

(v) M.E. Instrumentation and Control (for both Regular and Modular) Programme

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering /Electronics Engineering/ Instrumentation and Control Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent with atleast 50% marks in aggregate and post qualification experience of atleast 2 years (3 years in case of AMIE/IETE after diploma) in teaching/industry/research organization.

(vi) M.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering (for both Regular and Modular) Programme

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent with atleast 50% marks in aggregate and post qualification experience of atleast 2 years (3 years in case of AMIE/IETE after diploma) in teaching/industry/research organization.

No experience is required for admission of general candidates to M. Tech/ME Programmes.

The institute reserves the right to admission to any candidate and, the decision of NITTTR authorities shall be final in all the cases subject to the approval of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Admission under QIP (Poly) Scheme only for M. Tech/ME Regular Programmes: -

Admission under this scheme started in the year July 2001. This institute is one of the ten centers in the country to run QIP (Poly) Scheme of AICTE, New Delhi. Since October, 2007, the institute has been coordinating the admission of M.Tech/ME and Ph.D. Programmes in all ten QIP (Poly) Centres as Principal Coordinator.

Only permanent faculty members of AICTE recognized polytechnics can apply for admission.

Qualifications and Experience for admission

A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in the appropriate branch with 50% marks and other eligibility criteria as prescribed by NITTTR, Chandigarh in the concerned ME Programme. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience as on the last date of receipt of application.

Note: A candidate selected for admission under QIP (Poly) Scheme will have to execute an undertaking to serve his parent institution for a minimum period of 3 years after completing the programme.

Duration of the Programmes

i) For Regular M.Tech./M.E. Programmes

The normal duration of Regular M.Tech./ME programmes including Thesis will be 2 academic years (4 semesters). The maximum period of completion of the programme including Thesis shall be 4 academic years (8 semesters). 2 years (4 semesters) extension in genuine hardship cases is allowed by the Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, Chandigarh for submission of thesis.

ii) For Modular M.Tech./M.E. Programmes

The normal duration of Modular M.Tech./M.E. Programmes including Thesis will be 3 academic years, (6 spells, each spell of 5 weeks duration including Saturdays & Sundays). The maximum period of completion of the programme including Thesis shall be 6 academic years (12 spells). 2 years (4 spells) extension in genuine hardship cases is allowed by the Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, Chandigarh for submission of thesis.

M. Tech/ME Modular Programmes:
Last Date for Receipt of duly sponsored Applications: 04.05.2009 upto 5.00 PM

M. Tech/ME Regular Programmes:
Last Date for Receipt of duly sponsored Applications: 15.06.2009 upto 5.00 PM.
