Guidelines for Preparing Synopsis:

(i) Indication of Broad Area of Research
Although a student's primary course work and research activities are concentrated in the field of specialization, cross-disciplinary study is frequent and encouraged. Some of the major Fields of Research Study are listed below:

Accounting
Corporate Strategy
Economic Analysis & Policy
Finance
Human Resource Management
Information & Technology
Marketing
Organizational Behaviour
Production and Operations Management
Public Systems Management
(It may be noted that the above list is indicative and not exhaustive)

(ii) Formulation of topic
It has been noticed that sometimes the title of the proposed thesis is formulated in general terms. The need, however, is to formulate a topic in such a manner that a researcher could investigate some specific aspects, dimensions, problems and come out with some specific findings, conclusions, theories etc. in his/her investigation. It is, therefore, suggested that the synopsis of the research proposal that accompanies the application should normally incorporate following elements:
(a) Objective of and justification for the choice of topic’
(b) Extent of existing studies on the topic
(c) Methodology and scope of research
(d) Proposed structure of the thesis
(e) Bibliography
