Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (2009)

The course is of one year duration (2 Semesters) and covers various aspects of Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Plants. Formal coaching shall be held at Regional institute of NPTI located at Badarpur, New Delhi. On-job training is conducted at the nearby Power Stations. The course authorises the Diploma Holders to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or/whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated substation.

Eligibility:

Three years Diploma in Mechanical Electrical/ Electronics/Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Technical Board with minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks.

Selection Procedure: Merit (% of marks in diploma)

Age Limit : 27 years as on 05.01.2009. No age limit for sponsored candidates.

Application procedure:

Applications on plain paper along with the Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of NPTI payable at Badarpur, New Delhi should reach The Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (NR), Badarpur, New Delhi-110044 with two passport size photographs in the following format;

1 Name 2. Father's Name 3. Date of birth & age as on 05.01.09 4. Sex 5. Marital Status 6. Nationality 7. Whether SC/ST/Physically handicapped/ OBC 8.Postal Address, 9. Contact No: 10. E-mail address: 11.Educational Qualifications starting from 10th Standard stating subjects, College/ institution, % of marks, year of passing 12. Experience 13. Sponsored/Non-sponsored (if sponsored attach certificate from employer), 14. Details of DD 15. Signature.

Fees : For non-sponsored candidates Rs. 60.000/- (in two installments). For candidates sponsored from SEBs/PSUs/ Private Utilities Rs. 1,00,000/- payable in lump-sum at the time of admission. There is no fee concession for any category of candidates. Rs. 3100/- as transport charges for visits to power stations and industries and refundable security of Rs. 2000/- are payable separately at the time of admission.

Fees for candidates from foreign countries:

SAARC Countries : US$ 6000/-
Other Countries : US$ 7000/-
