Institute of Management, Nirma University invites applications for admission to MBA (Full Time) Programme

Number of Seats Available : 120

Fifteen percent of the intake is likely to be allocated for admissions to Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Foreign Nationals and Non Resident Indians (NRIs). Of this about one-third i.e., 5% is reserverd for Children of Indian workers of Gulf countries and South East Asia.

Eligibility

A three-year bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or its equivalent in any discipline from a statutory university with atleast 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in the final examination of a bachelor’s degree can also apply.

Admission Procedure

Application Form

Prospective candidates are required to fill in the IM application form. To obtain the application form and prospectus, applicants should send a request along with a demand draft for Rs. 1,500/- favouring Institute of Management, Nirma University payable at Ahmedabad, addressed to:

Application forms can also be directly obtained from the Institute and from different centres of IMS Learning Resources or from various branches of Aixs Bank from October 13, 2008.

The candidates can also download application from the website and send the filled-in application form along with a DD for Rs.1500/-.

Last Date for Receiving Form

Completed application forms must be returned by November 17, 2008. Candidates in the category of Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/Foreign Nationals and Non Resident Indians (NRIs)/Children of Indian workers of Gulf countries and South East Asia. Should enclose a bank draft for US$ 50 or Rs.2000/- drawn in favour of “Institute of Management’ ‘Nirma University’ and payable at Ahmedabad along with the completed application form.

Selection Process

The selection procedure for admission consists of two steps :

Written Test

Applicants for the full-time programme are required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs which will be held on 16th November 2008.

Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Candidates short-listed on the basis of their performance in the written test will be called for group discussion and personal interview. The group discussion/personal interview will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, and New Delhi. The final selection to the programme would be based on the candidate’s performance in the written test, group discussion, personal interview and work experience.

The following weightage will be given for each component of the selection criteria :
Written Test : 70%
Personal Interview : 20%
Group Discussion : 10%

An additional score upto 10 points for work experience will also be given for full-time work experience at managerial level in a professional organization.
