Walnuts are rich in Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (PUFAs) that protect the heart walls and blood vessels from free radical damage. It is advisable to eat a couple of walnuts every day, or incorporate them in recipes such as the one for Walnut Balls that follows.
Walnut Balls
2 tbsp walnuts, toasted
1/2 cup black seedless dates
1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1. Knead the dates into smooth dough.
2. Add the walnuts and cardamom powder and mix well.
3. Divide the mixture into 8 portions and shape into balls. Serve at room temperature.
