Kanyakumari is a tourist spot and a pilgrimage centre. The Gandhi Mandap and the Vivekananda rock are the main attractions of this place. The foot prints of the goddess Kanyakumari can be seen on a rock called Sreepadappara. Beside this there is a huge rock, where Swami Vivekanda sat for meditation and attained the spirit of knowledge (jyanodayam). A magnificant statue of Swami Vivekananda built is traditional Indian architecture was erected on the Mandapa. The meditation room is a spectacular feature where we can practise spiritual peace.
